Reaction to the Execution
- US Reaction to the Trial
Small gatherings of Iraqi Americans were somber and mourned the death of Saddam, calling his trial ‘unfair’ and in the words of the tyrant a ‘malicious injustice’. Despite this however a majority of the American public praised his death, and saw it as the coming of peace between two nations, however others question this as Bush’s perseverance for peace has led to more deaths than necessary.

- Iraqi Reaction to the Trial
The reaction in Iraq was mixed, as many felt that the trial was a just and simple end to such a long reign of tyranny that should have ended years ago, families of the shias also rejoiced as they must have felt they had some sort of vengeance for the pain he caused them. However supporters of Saddam, like the rest of the world, were in mourning for their fallen leader, raising flags with his emblem as a sign of respect.
