Sunday 30th December 2006
Saddam is finally hung after nearly two years on trial for war crimes committed in the 1980s.
Tuesday 26th December 2006
Saddam’s lawyers are taken aback as his appeal is rejected and his death sentence made official.
Sunday 3rd December
Saddam’s lawyers make an appeal to the judge that will be considered over a 30 day period when discussed with 6 other judges.
Sunday 5th November
Saddam is finally found guilty for the deaths of 148 Shias and crimes against humanity.
Sunday 29th October
The Bush administration denies involvement with the prosecution, this could delay the verdict by 2 weeks..
Thursday 27th July
The trial is delayed until the 16th of October Saddam was not present for this decision.
Wednesday 26th July
Saddam claims he would prefer an honorable military death by shooting over a hanging, he claims he was dragged from his hospital bed to the court.
Monday 24th July
Saddam goes on a hunger strike but the trial continues.
Monday 10th July
Saddam and his lawyers call the trial a ‘malicious injustice’ and attempt to boycott it.
Monday 19th June
The final prosecutions comments are made to many this seems like the final verdict for Saddam.
